There is the danger with landscape photography of always chasing the wide angle view of somewhere photogenic. Although not a bad thing as being there is half the enjoyment, it is possible to get stuck in a rut making the same sort of images. There are opportunities everywhere, it's just a case of looking, getting in tune with the landscape and then spending time on your composition. It is as always still about the light. Mixing different light colour temperatures is something that I have only recently started looking for when in search of an image. I had a few lucky accidents that awakened something that I already knew about, but for some reason never seemed to notice. It is of course also nice to come home from an adventure with something to show for it, instead of moaning the weather wasn't any good for landscape photography...
